Background
Our client is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their team on the Transport & Roadworks programme, delivering a range of civil infrastructure projects across Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong pipeline of framework works.
 
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, leading project teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideally suited to a Site Agent with significant experience delivering civil engineering and Design & Build projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, including Site Engineers, Foremen, Supervisors, operatives, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor resources.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and key stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and manage project drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor programme performance, identify risks and opportunities, and report progress to senior management.
  • Oversee commercial performance in collaboration with the Quantity Surveying team, including measurement, valuations, and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) standards and company procedures.
  • Coordinate temporary and permanent works, ensuring all required approvals and certifications are obtained.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure all statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements are met throughout project delivery.

 
Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards chartership.
  • 10+ years’ experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience working on framework contracts, ideally within transport or public infrastructure environments.
  • Experience delivering Design & Build projects is highly desirable.
  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
  • Authorised to work in Ireland.
