Role Overview
This position sits with a well-established main contractor that continues to secure and deliver large-scale projects throughout Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in securing future projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the tender process. This role offers exposure to major construction schemes, excellent career progression opportunities, and a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of competitive tenders for major construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation to assess project requirements
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure accurate pricing
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative construction methodologies
- Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams, and internal stakeholders throughout the bidding process
- Attend tender interviews and contribute to bid presentations where required
- Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
- Assess project risks and opportunities and incorporate findings into tender submissions
- Support handover of successful tenders to delivery and commercial teams
Key Requirements
- Minimum 6–7 years’ experience in an Estimating role with a Main Contractor
- Current Senior Estimator experience preferred
- Proven track record preparing successful tenders for construction projects
- Strong knowledge of the Irish construction industry and procurement processes
- Quantity Surveying background highly desirable
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and perform effectively under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
