This position is ideal for an experienced and proactive Site Engineer who thrives on responsibility and wants to progress their career within civil engineering.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Agent or Construction Manager to ensure each project is delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards — on time and within budget. You’ll be someone who is self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and plan the delivery of civil engineering works, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout each project phase.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager on daily project coordination, cost control, and progress tracking.
- Work alongside the Site Foreman to manage workforce organisation, plant and material requirements, and on-site productivity.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and promote adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.
- Contribute to project planning and scheduling, including weekly and daily work programmes.
- Coordinate labour (both direct employees and subcontractors) and resources to meet project milestones.
- Carry out setting out and surveying duties, recording formation levels and maintaining accurate measurement data.
- Manage drawing registers, issue drawings, and compile as-built records.
- Lead by example on-site, promoting professionalism and teamwork among all staff.
- Keep a detailed daily site diary and allocation sheets to record resources and progress.
- Take ownership of quality control across all construction activities and ensure all outputs meet project standards.
- Support monthly reporting, cost reviews, and performance tracking to help drive project success.
Key Skills Required
- A degree in Civil Engineering (BSc, BEng, or MEng).
- 3 years post graduate experience.
- Strong IT proficiency, including the use of current engineering software and digital tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple project disciplines.
