About the Role The Senior Safety Advisor will lead and support the implementation of the company’s HSEQ systems across commercial and residential civil engineering projects. The role requires a strong site presence and the ability to influence project teams and subcontractors to ensure all works are delivered safely, legally and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support Health & Safety management across commercial and residential projects
Promote a strong safety culture and provide expert advice to project and site teams
Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, client requirements and company procedures
Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks
Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and workforce engagement initiatives
Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance
Liaise with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities as required
Prepare H&S reports, statistics and KPIs for management review
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
Recognised professional qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma / Grad IOSH or equivalent)
5+ years’ experience in construction or civil engineering safety
Strong knowledge of construction health & safety legislation
Proven experience on commercial and/or residential projects.
