The Irish government has announced an ambitious plan to deliver 300,000 homes over the next five years, including 72,000 social homes.
Backed by €28.2 billion in investment, the plan aims to upgrade infrastructure, address construction delays and remove barriers to getting homes built. It also explores more creative approaches — converting vacant retail units and derelict buildings into residential properties — alongside targeted support for vulnerable groups, including those experiencing homelessness.
It is a bold commitment, and how it translates into activity on the ground will be worth watching closely in the years ahead.
